Benissa

To get to know Benissa is to get to know the history of the whole Costa Blanca region. Years of Iberian, Arabian and Christian inhabitation have all left their mark on the town. With its perfectly preserved old quarter, its museum and many buildings of historical interest, Benissa encapsulates all the various influences that have helped to define the character of this area of the Mediterranean.

It has a rugged landscape with deep ravines and staggered terraces but also offers a great contrast from this mountainous aspect with its tranquil coastal area. The town is divided into 2 distinct areas, those being the coastal zone and the town centre, which is set further inland.
