Altea
Famous for its whitewashed houses and boasting a church topped with unique blue and white tiles, Altea has always held a special fascination with those who come here. The narrow, cobble stoned streets of the old town slope gently down the hillside to the fisherman's quarter, now enlivened by a beautiful sea front promenade, bustling with restaurants and café bars.
From the elevated position of the old town it is possible to take in the breath taking views of the district. This ambience is further enhanced by the abundance of shops selling locally produced wares and the ‘Plaza de nuestra Señora del Consuelo' which comes alive at night time due to the many summer market stalls selling traditional Spanish arts and crafts and the open air terrace bars and restaurants.
